This week's episode highlights some of the more spacey ambient psychedelic music that's been on rotation around here for the last few weeks. This mix is somewhat of a tribute to French label Ultimae Records and their roster of groundbreaking sonic engineers. Perhaps most noted for their Fahrenheit Project series , Ultimae Records have consistently produced top quality psychedelic ambient music since around early 2000. I remember buying the first Fahrenheit Project CD ( there are about 6 now ) and thinking this is a change in style for the ambient psychedelic scene . Suddenly the music became less trippy and more structured , haunting and emotional. The subsequent releases I listened to did not disappoint either and I quickly became a big fan of all things Ultimae.
I especially recommend Aes Dana who is featured in today's ambient mix. Aes Dana , a.k.a Vincent Villuis is one of the label heads at Ultimae and is also involved in the production side of a number of Ultimae's artists. His music is ambient, psychedelic, etheral and panoramic on a scale that really sets him apart. His latest albumn , Leylines is another step forward in the evolution of the Ultimae sound.
Check out this fan produced video of Aes Dana's song "Signs" :
Well that's about it for today. It's so hot hear today I think I'll go pour a cold bath throw on the Leylines CD and chill riiiiiigggghhhht out. Enjoy today's mix and let me know if there is anything you would like to hear in the future episodes. Cheers ....

Hello again and welcome back. Join me today as I feel the summer vibes and sail away on an ocean of ambient dub. This is pure mind cruise control - full of hypnotic beats, warm basslines and tweekin' vibrations. Once again we have a number of new tracks to present here. Check out Zen Lemonade if you get the chance ! They have been around for a long time now as they let things flutter out from their Balinese bungalow every now and then. Live however is where they really shine so keep an eye should they come through your town someday. Comprising of Australian Gus Till and Supercozi from Japan, Zen Lemonade have produced some excellent psychedelic ambient music over the years and it's great to see them still going strong.
Super Cozi
Their latest album , 'Babylondon' - is a deep organic dubby fusion of Breaks, Jazz, Funk, Ambient and 70's Psychedelic Rock with deeply rooted techno influence. 6 years since their first album, it showcases their musical transformation, embodying full new psychedelic statements of the sort only they can make! Plenty of guitars, bass, percussion and gamelan, every track has a distinct dynamic groove - digitalized yet deeply organic. Thrilling soundscapes, tough yet delicate and featuring a cast of fantastic musicians ( including a special appearance by Steve Hillage of System7 ).

If you enjoyed that then you might be interested to hear that Gus has an equally interesting brother by the name of Andrew Till , label head of Australia's groundbreaking record label PsyHarmonics. Psy Harmonics stand as one the world's longest running and most respected psychedelic ambient and techno trance music record companies. Andrew is also an accomplished DJ having played at many of the world's leading psychedelic trance festivals and has dabbled at production in the past too. This is a pretty cool mix. I especially like the Eric Elser - Night Surfer tune. Well I won't keep you any longer with my otaku like ramblings , so let's get on with the mix.

Second ambient trance mix is ready for your listening pleasure. This time I continue to showcase some of the latest releases as well as one two oldies for good measure. Bluetech kicks things off with a very special remix of Shulman's "First Came the Stars". We then travel through a variety of glitchdubby bass driven ethno rippers until Ott brings it all down with the brilliant "The Queen Of All Everything" for a safe landing with all tray tables stowed and seat backs in the upright position.
Of special interest in this mix is the work of oCelot (a.k.a Aaron Peacock ). Aaron has been producing electronic music since 1993 mostly for himself but with a few releases over the years. In the year 2000 Aaron began to release under the name of oCeLoT and vectorSelector since 2003 as well.
Over the years his music has changed a lot, and he explores many sounds from psychedelic chillout, to minimal, melodic psychedelic , night time psychedelic , groovy psychedelic , even drum and bass. This year saw the release of his first psychedelic chillout album, "One", on Avatar Records. "One" is a great release and deserves some attention. For Aaron, doing a chillout album was just a question of time. This is one of oCelot's deeper works and the horizon for him shows friendly signs. So let's get into some sounds - presenting the second PsyAmb offering of psychedelic ambient chillout without any further ado. Cheers ...
